I have to admit I love menswear for women. It is chic, it is classic, and it is very Katherine Hepburn. I also have to admit that I have an obsession with Jenny Lewis and Jenny and Johnny (thus, the title of this post). I do, however, find it difficult to incorporate the menswear trend all the time into my day to day look. But I found the solution—suspenders. That’s right, suspenders. I got these from a local lingerie shop and I am mildly to completely in love with them. You can’t see it in the photos, but I also have a large gold watch on, which always makes me feel a bit timeless. By pairing a feminine skirt with a structured blazer, I was set. Really when testing out the menswear look (or any trend of that matter), it is a process of trial and error and baby steps. I must say, however, I can’t wait to live in sheer and oversized button-up shirts and structured pants, as was shown on the fall runways of New York Fashion Week. This is a trend I don’t mind hanging out for a bit… or forever.
