Chevron + Metallic

To say this week has been hell is an understatement—and it is only Tuesday. In the past thirty-hours I feel as if I have had three months of emotion and stress (emphasis on that stress). With a full mind I came home, turned on All On The Line with Mr. Joe Zee, and then proceeded to burn my dinner to the bottom of the pan (if I had a Fairy Godmother, Drunken Noodles would be delivered ASAP.) So with an empty stomach, a mountain of work, and a back in knots—I went to bed. That’s right. I went to bed. Then I painted my nails and picking between silver and gold (cue Rudolph song) was a daunting task. With a gold base, I painted my nails silver and then with a small brush with stiff bristles (an old Chip Skip brush), I chevron-ed that metallic. And, trust me, if I can do this, anyone can. Why? I am terrible at doing my nails. Usually half the color ends up on my skin, not on my nails. With a wet silver coat, use the stiff brush to make your chevron and the gold base will shine through. While I may not be having the most sparkle-y of weeks, at least my nails can be happy. Maybe there is always a silver lining—or gold, as it may be.
