So Long Summer
Today is Labor Day, which traditionally marks the end of summer. While the first day of autumn isn’t technically until September 22, I am fully welcoming the brisk weather, the scent of pumpkin, and the leaves changing. Actually, I look forward to this time of the year all year long. Autumn is my favorite season, not only for the fashion and for my birthday and the birthday of my best girlfriend, but because it is such a time of change and renewal. Some people do this in spring, I do this in autumn (blame being enrolled in school nearly my entire life). With bloggers, editors, and enthusiasts everywhere gearing up for New York Fashion Week, I find myself in an utterly calm state of mind. I have been reading more books, catching up on September issues, fall online shopping, and making my home smell sensual with a bit of pumpkin (I’m obsessed). Currently I am coveting these shoes from Shopbop (seriously it was love at first sight). Don’t get me wrong, I am just as excited for NYFW as the next fashionista, but I find myself in the calm of the fashion storm. And so, with that in mind, here is a go-to look of mine for these early unofficial days of summer—a look that really can be lived in day-to-day.
1. Club Monaco Kristen Cashmere Sweater
2. TEXTILE Elizabeth and James Debbie Skinny Jeans
3. JewelMint Pan Glam Collar
